Back-to-School: The Community Behind Every Child
Year to date, Cumberland has provided 15,233 days of care across our campus and community. But there’s more: behind every day of care here at Cumberland is a safe place to call home where a child finds stability, a young adult builds independence, or a single-parent family works toward a brighter future. While numbers help us measure our impact, they also remind us of something even more important: none of this would be possible without a community that chooses to stand beside us.
Every Number Tells a Story
Today, Cumberland Youth & Family Services is serving 86 children and young adults preparing for the new school year. Each of them has unique strengths, goals, interests, and challenges, but they all share one thing in common: they deserve a safe place to call home and the support they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.
As the needs in our community continue to grow and our services continue to expand, so does our responsibility to meet them. Whether it's providing a safe foster home, counseling services, stable housing, or helping a young adult prepare for independent living, every program depends on the generosity of people who believe every child deserves hope and opportunity.
That support comes in many forms. It comes from community partners who organize donation drives and volunteer their time. It comes from businesses that invest in our mission, churches that rally their members, civic organizations that lend a helping hand, and individuals who generously give throughout the year. Every act of generosity helps create opportunities for children and families to heal, grow, and succeed.
It takes a village: How you can help
As we prepare for a new school year, our village has another opportunity to make a difference. The children and young adults we serve are getting ready to head back to the classroom, and having the right school supplies helps them begin the year with confidence.
