Volunteering at Cumberland Youth & Family Services

Cumberland Youth & Family Services offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups looking to support our agency through volunteer work. We have on-campus and off-campus events, as well as other opportunities available throughout the year. Take a look at the opportunities below to see if your interests align with our needs. Complete Orientation to Volunteer Role and Agency

*Campus Event volunteers will complete their orientation the day of the event.

If required for your volunteer role, complete online/in-person training and submit all required documents before your first volunteer assignment.

Complete your onboarding with Cumberland Youth & Family Services staff and receive your first volunteer assignment!

 Volunteer Opportunties

Volunteers are integral to promoting healing and hope for the youth and families we serve. By joining our team of volunteers, you will make a difference in the lives of kids in foster care, young adults aging out of foster care, single-parent families, and members of our community. We are currently in need of volunteers for:

Due to our commitment to protecting the children and families we serve, individual volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Campus volunteer events and activities may be suitable for youth with adult supervision. If you have questions or concerns regarding an event or age requirements, contact Development Director Jennifer Jenkinson at 940-382-5112.

Volunteers must complete a background check to provide a professional service to our campus residents. A background check is not necessary if the service is provided at a place of business. We are unable to provide volunteer hours for court-ordered community service.

  • Complete a volunteer application or email Kayla Roddy, Development Manager at kroddy@cumberlandservices.org if you have additional questions.

  • Depending on your volunteer opportunity, you will be required to complete our Volunteer Application, a short orientation, and/or a full screening process and opportunity-specific training.

  • Without screening, volunteers can participate in campus volunteer events (no resident/child contact) once every 90 days.

  • No, we do not.

  • Individual volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Campus volunteer events and activities may be appropriate for youth with adult supervision.

  • You must be 18 years old, complete a background check, all required online/in-person training, and submit all documentation prior to your first volunteer assignment.
